Dan’s Garage Band brings high-energy classic rock, crowd favorites, and plenty of good-natured chaos to every performance. The Concert’s Evolution
SHOP Sandy Hook Village, a non-profit located in Sandy Hook hamlet of Newtown, Connecticut,
is excited to host our 2026 Rockin the Hook concert at our Heritage Park at 7 Glen Road.
This year’s event features great music from four bands, on-site food from food trucks, and a beer and wine tent.
In addition, our media sponsor, WPLR, the New Haven and Fairfield County’s most prominent rock station, will be on-site the day of the event.
How It Started
Several years ago, Jeff Wallace, VP of Media and Sponsorship at Live Nation, contacted SHOP Sandy Hook Village. He offered to help secure sponsors to hold a free concert in Sandy Hook. As a result, hundreds in our community enjoyed the show. Since that first year, attendance has grown, and promoting the concert has reached well beyond Sandy Hook.
SHOP Sandy Hook Village - Our Mission
The event is one of several fundraisers that SHOP Sandy Hook Village executes for initiatives to elevate awareness of Sandy Hook, its business community, and its impressive history. Recently changing our name from S.H.O.P (Sandy Hook Organization for Prosperity), our local non-profit team have moved to make it easier to enjoy Sandy Hook and find all that it has to offer.
The Heritage Trail Project
One of SHOP Sandy Hook Village’s recent initiatives is the Heritage Trail in Sandy Hook. We have been fundraising to build a community space on a piece of town-owned property that we lease for $1/year. The park already includes a pavilion, 30 public parking places, lighting, sidewalks, and a green space extending to the river. Come check out our newest addition: the Sandy Hook Puzzle Library!
SHOP Sandy Hook Village Board members will be on hand to showcase our initiatives for Heritage Park and the Village Mural Project, and concert-goers can donate to support these projects.
